  1. Thanks, Tom. Yes, it's stoneware, ^6. I like color, but also need durability for practicality of use, especially for mugs and bowls, which are 70% of my sales. The underglazes I use are Amaco Velvets and the ones I use keep their color at ^6.
  2. Thanks, Marko. I just opened an etsy shop and have had a lot of likes but no sales yet. I sell at a few select local art fairs and in a few local galleries.
  3. Thanks, Marko. No, I don't even own an airbrush. The underglazes are applied with a 1" sop brush on my wheel. I blend as I go.
  4. Thanks, Marko. These are all bisqued at ^07 with underglazes on and glaze fired to ^6 oxidation. Yes all the designs are freehand, although I block it out into 8ths to get started. The colored underglaze, the blackline underglaze and the dotted accents take me about 90 minutes to apply. The platter is 12" diamete.
  5. Thanks, Alabama. I really love folk art, mostly Central American and Eastern European, and yes Pennsylvania Dutch, sgraffito and majolica.
  6. I just re-posted my new work. Thank you to all of you that viewed them and commented before they disappeared. I appreciate your support. a

I found you through that mug thread ... I love your work! Absolutely beautiful. I want to reach into the computer and run my fingers over all the carving and just look and look at everything. Also I'm quite pleased to find that the amount of surface decoration I use doesn't make me totally nuts. Or if it does, I'm in good company! ;)

  14. Help! I posted a new album on 6/30 (6 pics) and now, poof!!, all gone. I know the pics were there because quite a few people commented on them. All comments and likes are now floating out there in the ethernet. I don't know who or where to report this.

Unfortunately, you'll need to repost the photos. The Administrators are aware of the problem -- it has to do with migrating the forum to new servers.

  15. I'm new to CAD although I have been working with clay for 45+ years. Recently retired and am back to throwing pots all year (~20 hrs a wk). Been working on some new styles using bright colors, sgraffito and firing to ^6 (after working at ^10 reduction since '70). Just posted some pics of my new work. What do you think? I'm doing some craft fairs and in a few galleries.
