Pottery, mixed media art, cooking, walking in the countryside with my two bonkers daughters and crazy little dogs.
  1. I am using a pre mixed stoneware slip. I am casting in several different moulds, one part and two part. During the initial drying before (and sometimes after) I remove from the mould, the inside bottom of the pots craze and crack. I am drying them out slowly and not in a warm room. Why oh why oh why? Can provide photo if required

  3. I need to replace my broken kiln shelves and I wondered if I could cut vermiculite sheet to size and use this for the shelves (as would save me money). I now vermiculite can withstand high temp, but wondered if anyone had any experience with this. Thanks.
