  1. Geckos are cool .. I like this work.. you ever try a Boa Constrictor wrapped around a mug? I used to raise/breed them..
  2. Bisque trial # 2 underway.. i need to make some test tiles .. rolling rite along , lets enjoy the holiday weekend .

    Our first bisque firing.. Very pleased , nothing broken and our attachments were solid... The little bits of extra effort here and there paid off..
  6. First bisque firing went GREAT!! we didnt lose anything and all of our attatchments are still on.. not bragging , just really happy :)

  8. got alot done this week, been making the kids some smaller cups .. dont want them to feel left out or that its only for adults...

  10. To do list- make more mugs and hadles- reclaim porcelain- make humid box- put wash on flower pots- coat kiln shelves-drink alot of coffee

    L&L Jupiter 230 manual Kiln, bought it wrapped up new on the crate.. Came with a Shimpo,Velocity to boot...
  16. 2 handles left to attatch.. Im not very good at handles and i appreciate those who are.. My old art teacher used to say "if you put in the time on what your not as good at, it can beocme what your best at." thats what im aiming for..

      im getting a little better at them.. made 8 today. not uniform, went on better but looked like spaghetti by the time I was so called done..

  17. On Vacation, I think im going to meet the "Dirty Girls" today at Kentucky Mudworks.. I need some clay

  18. Threw my biggest flower pot tonight 13.5 lbs- turned out good but i missed the heigth a little.. surprised myself on the uniform thickness throughout the pot...

  19. Week #3- Up to 6.5-7 lb pots, excited about that !!!

  20. 'week # 2 of throwing, did better. not near as many falls due to weak bases and/or weak lower walls.. Our pulling is getting better but still a challenge for us.. we made 20 pots on saturday with decent results for being rookies, alot to learn...

      I had the same problem today. Going to reclaim my hard clay and stick the softer stuff.

  23. Threw my biggest pot this moring, took 2 attempts .. first one fell because the base was to thin.. second turned out to be my best pot so far but i got scared ad left a little to much in the mid section...

  24. our first weekend on the wheel, learned alot and made about 10 pieces.. a couple cool accidents.1 huge mess lol

  25. Ordered Cerawool last nig, things thigs are moving alog faster than expected..
