  1. Yea, first test, ^04, fired great. I rebuilt my small kiln, Paragon A-82B, new bricks, elements and controller rewired with new infinite switches. Now I go for the gold, ^6.

  2. Welcome to the group. Love the dreads. Hope to see some of your work.

mark, have always had them but when my cataract surgery was done in 02 they mostly disappeared. until an accident when i hit the tree going over the edge of the road. i think the surgeon stirred up the stuff inside the eye.

Are you recovering from the surgery? Yep the floaters are a pain, but you can still see the clay, right??

Yup, visions fine. And I think the floaters went on vacation, or that lump of clay is a mighty big floater, LOL. But, I'm fine tha k you Roberta.

    Me on the phone

I use to have one of them phones. They just don't make em like that anymore.
  6. I had some Laguna ^5 Porcelain sitting around in a 5gal bucket for a year or so. Sooo, I cleaned my wheel of stoneware (spotless) and my tools, so I made some candle holders with in the Mishima technique. Do you think it would be better to fire with a clear glaze of without? I want the colors in the design to be bright.

Yes you can. You will see some color shifts, pending the amount of iron in your stoneware clay. Colors will be brighter, different hues perhaps.

again, I concur with the venerable Nerd. I go back and forth from porcelain to a white stoneware.

Interesting. You should show a tile outlet your work.
  11. What kiln do you test with?
  12. Anyone miss me? I got locked out when I changed my email.

Actually no, Joel, it was me. I switched my email and had not made the verification, after I saved my new email. Somehow, it made me outcast. But being somewhat tech savvy, I did fix it. So never going to forget this experience.

Pushing the envelope, doesn't seem to be a problem for you. Awesome dude.
  14. I love the design of the dragonfly plate. The way you have it flowing through the leaves gives it movement. Like a wake from a boat. Well done. You should sell more of those.
  15. Love succulents. They always work well in pottery.
  16. Hi again, and sure, that would be nice. But I better read up on barium. I've never used it. I want to be sure I understand so I can dispel any doubts I might incur from naysayers, and frighteners.
  17. Hey oldlady, it's all looking good. Wishing you a great sellout. Do you dip your long platters in a bucket? Spray or brush? I've been dipping 3/4 then then other 1/4. It's ok, but I sometimes want a solid coverage.
  18. Beautiful glaze. Really makes the piece pop. ^6? Oxides or stain. Stoneware or Porcelain? Love the shape.
  19. Losing heat. My lid has gaps. Any suggestions?

Going with Glazenerd's recommendation. Thank you all for the positive feedback. Just don't send me a bill...ok? LOL (marko, yes, good people, my Precious, yes, good)

  20. Doing a ^6 witness firing test. I have a Orton AF3000, that is finishing at 2194 F, so I test. I have also disconnected all the switches, timers and cone sitter. Now it is direct from the elements to the power cord to the Orton control wall box. Hope it works.

    Pumpkin!

Hey, fellow Texan, I live down in Kingsville. I use to go to SA (Clayworld) but they closed. But I recently found Jenny and Gloria back to work in SA. A place called Roadrunner Ceramics. Do you shop there? Well, it says you are just getting started in your profile. That's great. It looks like you really got a feel for it. Do you sell onLine? Thanks for sharing.
  22. Is this unglazed. Looks great.
