  1. Nice. Your SCM/Layer comes out a lot better than mine ever did back when I was trying it. Good looking pot sir.
  2. I felt like the results thread was a nice place to see all the work finished, but I also liked seeing the works in progress posted on the actual topic. I feel like the results thread was a lot of extra work for you Joel and we should have just posted our works in progress and final pictures as went in the same place.
  3. Dunno how I missed that. Looking good. Are you still selling your stamps and rolling designs on etsy as well?
  4. I am sure they will sell, no one is buying the mug for the top color. They are just picking ones that match what they like I assume. The mug is getting bought for the beautiful carving I imagine? I think a cream wouldn't work. It will be too earthy, the bright colors really make the whole thing pop. I think just abandon the white all together the bright colors make you happy, and happy people buy pots?!? lol.. But if they are selling over the others, keep the white! haha. I think that purple you have on the inside of some of your cups would look brilliant, but maybe you already tried it and didn't like it?
  5. I don't like white with speckled clay body personally. I feel the same way. I also like my whites to be thick and fat looking if that makes sense? lol.
  6. The only thing I don't like about this color is that your eyes are drawn to it more than the flower work. It overtakes it slightly.
  7. I am sure the person who it is for will spend years discovering the small details in the pot. Beautiful work.
  8. I dont see how you get the green so perfect in the grooves. I would pull my hair out (if i had any) doing that.
  9. I think the teal works because your mind associates the sky maybe?
  10. Oh the joy of buying 15'' shelves, then getting home and they dont fit cause they are 15.5 inches and you have an L&L Kiln with element holders. DUN DUN DUN....

Whew... Done! Now I have blackish/grey kiln shelves. The corelite shelves held up a lot better than the cheap ones that I bought a while back. Those are like the ocean now. The corelite ones you can't even tell a grinder was on them. When I finished I patted my clothes off and it was a white dust storm. The sky was blocked and my dog yelped because she was scared of the sudden darkness.

  11. SPRING WHERE YOU GO!? Just when I start enjoying spring and have my garage door open, a cold front comes in and I am back in the house hiding from my freezing studio and achy bones!

Sorry man, I moved it down here to South Texas.

  12. I am curious which is your favorite of the 4?
  13. I like where the brown turns dark black.
  14. What are you going to use it in to line vs the outside? Just curious?
  15. Is the black part transparent when you shine a light directly on it? Or does it turn a brownish gold?
  16. Garage door insulation almost finished. It is already getting hot in there from my space heater + house door open. Literally could tell the difference in 1 hour.

Chilly, that's how it is with California. Except it's two drops of rain that stops us in our tracks. We drove down to L.A. last weekend after rain and there were accidents on every freeway.

  17. Just ordered garage door insulation. It's just too cold out there for my old bones. My heater warms it up a little, but now with the insulation I should be able to stay out there all day again!

I got an electric kettle this year for the studio. It's great for heating fresh throwing water and I also heat water to clean my wax resist brush.

My hands ache and burn when I go out there at night. During the day is fine. At night if I run a load of laundry in the dryer and use hot throwing water and wear layers it's not too bad.
