  1. Still looking for a production potter, had my latest no show for work today... Wondering why so many people love clay, but don't seem to like working with it professionally?

      Mike:

      I went through that alot when I was building houses full time. Part of it is youth (not applicable to all youth) who have no work ethic. In pottery however I think they mistake the production setting for college. Work when they want and how they want. How dare a boss tell them what forms he wants thrown: that rains on their creativity.

      Making pots is hard work -making other peoples pots is even harder.For me making my own work is more satisfying .You need a person who has yet to have their own setup but who is a focused thrower. Its a hard thing even in the old days. Kids now day well thats another subject .Good luck

      I remember when I was a senior in high school I worked at a pizza place. I worked my tail off. Mopped, cleaned, did everything. The delivery drivers stood around and told me to hurry up because they didn't want to have to help out in the kitchen, they wanted to be out making tips which they never ever shared with me.
