Hello!
I have pints of glazes for brushing. I also have glazes that I have mixed myself. I would like to know if anyone has any luck using the mixed glaze to brush on or do you think it should be for dipping only? Thanks

Newbie Here! I hope this is allowed. I am wondering if anyone in the business for years can offer any help. A friend of mine broke the top of his vintage elf cookie jar and I want to gift him the hat as a surprise. I found someone online with the exact mold and willing to make it. Although, they aren't able to really help with the glaze. When you expand the photo it almost appears to be a pearlized glaze. Could this be an undercoat? I'm not a ceramic expert, but I looked through charts of glazes to match up and I can't seem to find anything similar. This was probably made in the 1960's or 70's. Can anyone help me?

Can I low fire a 06 cone glaze and a bisque load in the same firing. That would be to use the 06 cone bisque schedule to glaze a few pieces?

Just got my first Bison carbide cutting tool . It will be a little while before I get to using it since I'm in the process of getting my little farm ready to plant. Also working on glazing another 20 or so pieces before I start throwing again.

Hi, I'm a newbie at pottery and I am looking for a bat system for work pieces that can slightly dry on the bat and not warp the bat. Perhaps as a new potter I tend to use more water that a seasoned potter. I'm looking at Batman, North star, dirty girl wonder bat etc....Any suggestions?

Got the stitches out of my hand today and will be able to get my hands on the clay in about a week. The orthopedist said that throwing would be excellent exercise...

Many Years Ago Back In High School In the Art room was a Potters wheel sitting in the corner collecting dust.
The Art teacher was ant artist and not a Potter, so the wheel was not being used. One day I asked the teacher if I could use the wheel. I had never done pottery before So I got some clay and started. I went to the library and took out books on ceramics and throwing on the wheel. When I started throwing on the wheel a lot of the other Art students became interested and wanted to learn how to throw. The Art teacher saw how good I was at it She asked me to teach others how to throw on the wheel and work with clay.
I was hooked .When I graduated I went to an art college to study ceramics . Lot of things happened in the family and I had to leave college and take care of the bumps in life.
I finally got back into ceramics a few years later bought a Kiln and a Randell wheel and started making pottery for art shows and flee markets.
Life chained again had to put pottery in the corned again . I kept my wheel and kiln that I set up in my home today . I'm slowly digging it out of the corner because my son is learning pottery and im re-hydrating some 50 year old clay for him to use

Going to have the 2 trigger fingers on my left hand repaired in two weeks. I'll try to get some pots thrown before since I'll be away from the wheel for a few weeks after the surgery...
