Fired a class load last week. Had a larger student sculpture that had been drying for weeks. Had a slow bisque fire program. Everything was going well, until the kiln got around 1000 F. Felt steam coming out of the peep... It was like the engine room scene from Titanic. FULL STOP!!!

Scotty would have pushed her to Warp 12 and held on for dear life.

Yep, it survived. After shutting off the kiln, I kept checking the peep for moisture. When none was detectable, I started it back up. No issues. There were no spots over 1/2" thick.

Good job on the steam check. I always use the hand at the peep hole to check for moisture during bisque, and glaze firings.
