  1. I have used underglaze here.  Mug was fine at greenware stage but developed a fine hairline crack during bisque.  Crack does not appear on the outside, only inside.

Am planning to clear glaze (cone 6) for final firing?  Will the glaze fill the crack or do I need to repair?  I don't want to remake if I can avoid it due to the work on it.

Hi Deb, Welcome to the Forum!

Please feel free to re-post your Update entry to Studio Operations and Making Work sub-forum*.

In question is the vertical line in the blue section**?
Hard to tell how deep that crack goes - if it is just the underglaze that's separated, or has the underlying clay cracked partway through? Any road, I'd try to fill the crack but wouldn't count on it, for it looks like clay underneath is cracked.
...by wetting the crack with a pointed brush, then apply the material, sponge back the excess, then wait to see how it looks when fully dried. Which material? Hmm...

*Shout if there's any question and/or you need assistance.
**The white marks along the horizontal border between the black and green are not in question?
