Woodfiring is THE absolute MOST expensive way to fire in most situations. Labor! Wood prep. Extra steps in loading like wadding everything. Lots of cleanup of the kiln and furniture after a firing. Wear and tear on the kiln and posts and shelves. More than the average "unsuccessful" pieces. And then oh yeah.... stoking labor for hours. Were crazy.
