happy dance! glad it worked out. new green looks terrific, impressed pattern shows through really well. 

thanks, madeline, for all your help.  this was a trial and everything that might be a variable was.  i cannot believe how thickly i have to apply this glaze even though it looks normal once fired.  it influenced the application of a different glaze, the turquoise, to the point that it became almost flat, hiding the cat below.  now i have a new cat dish.
