Grayling Fountain

Kohaku

A tabletop fountain. Thrown sectionally, with the final assemblage in three components. The bottom two sections are fired at cone six (with a mixture of weathered bronze and variegated blue glazes). The top component is raku-fired, with a carved grayling design. The pump is nest in the bottom vessel. The top vessel incorporates a self-watering planter, and the rim of the second component is also designed to hold cascading plants.

By the way... comments and critique- including the negative variety- are welcome. This piece- in particular- represents a direction I'm interested in exploring further (fountains with integrated hi-fire and raku elements) and I'd love input both about functionality and aesthetics.
