I live in possibly the most beautiful city in the World, Cape Town, South Africa. I spend almost every day either melting glass (beads) or slipcasting ceramics. I am also being taught by a master modeler how to make my own masters and molds. I often incorporate my glass beads in my ceramic ware, and where possible, I try and make the beads a functional design aspect of the ware.
I have no formal art/design training, and used to be a RN for many years. About 5 years ago I gave it all up and started to 'work' full time at my craft. 3 years ago I started to play again with clay, after a 20 year hiatus.
I have taken part in our regional juried ceramic exhibition, as well as showing/selling my work at South Africa's premier designer week, Design Indaba.
