About Me

I am the VP of Techincal Services here at American Art Clay (AMACO) where I have been working for the last 3 1/2 years. I am a ceramic engineer from Alfred University and have been actively involved in the whitewares industry for my entire career. I have worked with glazes, clay bodies, kilns, processing and almost all areas of the whitewares industry. I have worked at Kohler company in Kohler Wisconsin in the sanitaryware industry. I was Director of Ceramic Engineering at Homer Laughlin China where I was a major player in our conversion from lead to lead-free for our hotel china. I spent 10 years at Florida Tile in Shannon Georgia working with red clay floor tile, low fire white body tile and formulated the porcelain body they are using today. I bring alot of experience to my position here at AMACO and feel that it is this knowledge that makes me a perfect fit here. I am also married to a wonderful lady Laura who is a ceramic artist. I feel very strongly about giving back the knowledge I have been able to learn during my career. Helping artists and teachers is something that I enjoy and try to nuture.
