First time firing a gas kiln and it was a 6ft by 6ft beast. Not the best idea to start firing at 01:30 feeling tired now.

You are in for a lonng stretch of kiln-baby-sitting. I normally figure 7 hours to Cone 10 once reduction has started.

This was posted after the fact of firing :D luckily there was three of us so I did manage a few 20min naps through the night. Started at 1:40am and cone 8 was flat down about 1pm. Probably a little slow to begin with but being cautious is good to start with. No idea how the reduction went as I am still not sure what reduction is. Has gasses igniting out the bottom peep so fingers crossed!

Totally meant to do some volumetric blending but been distracted talking to local coffee roasters. Managed to get some green beans from them to try pan roasting.

Maybe you were a plasterer in a past life and your soul is tired of it.

I am forever managing to break my moulds mid pour and getting plaster sploodging out everywhere :( and not mixing up enough volume. After about 6 separate batches yesterday I finally got a little better. Last pour was a good one with the right consistency :D
Still can't seem to get the moulds for batts that came with the wheel to fit ! arg, emailed skutt to see if they can help.

Finally getting round to casting plaster batts for my wheel. Been putting it off for a long time because I know that plaster will end up where it should not be!
