Just turned on a bisque load- this one contains little handprints on slabs for my sons preschool class, they are my first slabs and have already warped a lot, but I need to get them done before school lets out this year.

Those closed forms seem to take forever to dry. Agree with Benzine about candling them.

I had a fantastic day of lessons at the Neil Estrick Gallery. I think he saved my horrible lid issue ;)

Beautiful Outside- I should probably take my splash pan outside to clean it. (i just scrape it out in the winter because I don't want the clay water down the drain)

I am trying to keep a strait line from my neck to my back. But I have to lean forward with it too.. it's difficult. I think If I wore a back brace maybe it would keep my posture more aligned when throwing.

Couldn't you just elevate the wheel a bit? Not fun having back ache!! Please take care.

I did my first "pottery sale" at a spirit fair. I normally do numerology readings but this time I took some mugs with me. Feeling pretty good about my sales!

Maybe that is when we will know we really are potters....when the entire kiln load turns out great!!! I'm not there yet!

I was very happy- everything seemed to bisque fine. I had 2 cracked rims of bowls but i think they occurred in the trimming process and just showed up in the bisque. I put some cones in the kiln to check for accuracy and they did nothing.. so I wonder what is going on. The wares seem fine though.

What cones did you put in ? Just be careful glazing if hte cone you wanted to fire to did nothing as this would suggest the kiln didn't get to temp/cone you wanted to and this would mean that your ware is more porous than you expect so the glaze will go on the pot thicker, if you get what I'm sayning.
    Exciting firing!
