In Topic: I'll Never Be A Real Potter.

24 March 2015 - 06:28 AM

Flowerdry,you quoted:

I feel as if a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. I am at peace with never becoming a "real potter".

"Just interchange the words.......You have become a real potter,as far as you are at peace .You have lifted off a huge burden from your shoulders.

For me the above sentence should comply on you, now. As far as you are burdenless and at peace, you are a real potter. As far as clay journey brings happiness to our souls and one is at peace with oneself :) ,nothing else should matter.YOU ARE A REAL POTTER,FLOWERDRY!!

Keep potting !!

In Topic: What Do You Get Out Of This Forum Interaction?

12 March 2015 - 07:17 AM

I've been entwined with this forum thru my journey with clay. Joined as naive.... By the passage of days, browsing thru various articles, interactions, the informative knowledge I gathered here is immense. It provided me various ways out to overcome my difficulties working with clay, glazes and overall process.

There are accomplished potters here who are well acquainted with terms, but a self-taught person like me just getting to know the term was accepting a lot... I laugh at times, mere looking back i hardly knew lot many generic terms example "Mishima,Molding, obvara ",which this forum made me understand .Further to add getting engaged with this forum, i was able to to get my first wheel with hands full of sugestions around, what more could i have asked for.

Still miles to go ..but the inspiration i get from here is nonetheless mesmerising which keep making me come back to clay.Salute and thank you to every member of this forum.

Best Wishes!!

In Topic: Food For Thought - E - Course!

12 December 2014 - 12:04 PM

Marcia,me aware that Potters Council has a mentoring program. When we enroll we do get an oppurtunity to avail this mentoring programme.

My suggestion is for online  e - course where there will be a class / group,whereas in Mentoring its one to one.Forsure doubts can be cleared ,but invariably thru e courses we can learn many concepts and divide eg from : Beginner course/Intermediate and further on.

Modules could be set up.

Further its just a food for thought.Thru this learning process we could be able to explore more, thru sharing in this kind of platform.I did mentioned it could be on chargeable basis.
