Evelyne
I'm in France and I've just done my first potter's market. It went well but I'm not satisfied with my stall , what type of market stall do you have when to do an uncovered market ?
Chris Campbell
How much room do you have to set up? If it is square I would want to make the set up more inviting by opening it into a U shape.

oldlady
evelyne, i like the pots but i think there are too many of the same size and type all lined up like soldiers. could you keep some under the table and put more out as the first ones sell? i would like to see the animals in a group of their own. and maybe something colorful, an orange or chartreuse green something, a bright yellow place mat or tall red kitchen tools in the deep pots. an arrangement by function or something other than straight lines by size and color. some height variation can be added with small sturdy boxes for a single item here and there. mix the sizes of bowls and add some plastic or real fruit in the big ones. do you have sets of 3? (more photos, give us a chance to see the drawings inside those bowls and what is in the frames on the deep cylinders. we like to say good things.) PSC
I cring at the sound of pots grinding on each other, those piled pots give me goosebumps knowing the sound they'll make as people handle them. Less piles. The blue table covers look nice with the cream color dishes but the blue dishes seem to get lost. Maybe have a mix of cream and blue covers to allow the blue to stand out too. I use cinnabarr colored covers yet use large cream colored diamond shaped cloths on top of them to let the browns and reds to show up better. Could that front table be lower? So it makes more of a stair step? I have found people prefer to not step into a u shape display. I run my tables across the front of my booth but i use a stair step display. My back table is normal table height(two 5 foot long tables), then i have a 12" wide 6 foot long bench up on bed risers as a step down, and then a 4 foot long 12†wide shelf as the last step down. I find people seem to want to look longer and are more willing to approach when other shoppers are looking with the step down booth. My dream booth has shelves but still looking for the perfect shelves that will work and will fit in my small truck.
Evelyne
Hi PSC ! Do you have any pics of your stall ? My front table is quite low , I don't think I could make it lower . Oldlady , Here's a link to my Fb page for photies : https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.787828097919419.1073741843.295251550510412&type=
Mark C.
My thought is without knowing what your booth footprint is I am thinking its at least 10 feet deep? Make a u shape with the tables you have. Since many of your bowls are blue I think a blue cover is not the right look. Maybe make a table cover thats not blue and put the blue work on that. The other comment is since your work is 95% bowls with drawing in them I would display less as Oldlady says. Mark
oldlady
absolutely wonderful clay family. i see why you want all of them on the tables.
Rae Reich
I don't mind the stacked bowls, they'll be stacked on my cupboard shelves, too. I'd like to see more height juxtaposition of display areas, like the taller shelf up front beside low and medium high tables.
