I get my Standard clay from Chicago Ceramic Supply - they have a very good selection - they also have commercial glazes and chemicals - Definitely worth the phone call.

Great lakes low fire bodies are really great - I used them for beginner classes I teach - but I wasn't happy with their mid-fire selection but I prefer dark clay bodies . . . Also Tim at great lakes (their repair guy) is really amazing - he has helped me tremendously and is very generous with his knowledge.

When I lived in the Midwest, I always wanted to make the trip to one of these places, but Brickyard Ceramics (http://www.brickyardceramics.com) in Indianapolis was closer at the time.
