Leola
Is there a method to get cracked luster? I like it when there is a minimum of 1mm spaces between the cracks.
rakukuku
I know an artist who uses an aligator looking white glaze in high fire. after the highfire she puts luster glaze over the crackly stuff and then luster fires. never done it myself. rakuku
Marcia Selsor
To get a glaze to intentionally crawl, add increments of magnesium carbonate until you get the pattern you are after. I don't know what this will do to the luster formula. Marcia
PeterH
I'm a little confused, by the wording of your query. Are you after wide (>1mm) cracks in a resinate luster? If so, I've always believed that it was done with "painterly" effects. That is crackle-paint style magic resulting in the luster layer being in its crackled state before firing. I believe that there are quite a few painterly tricks-of the-trade (including spraying drops of meths onto the wet luster) that I'd love to read about.
