Need Help With A Brent C Pedal Switch

Wyndham

Recommended Posts

I've replaced the switches on my brent C wheels before and adjusted the Hi/Low pot setting with no trouble but this switch is giving me grief. The pedal won't start the wheel at the low pot setting no matter how adjust it. The hi pot kicks in as it should but no transition from slow to hi.

Hope someone might have a thought. I've got an email into tech support but it's after hrs  now, just frustrated. Thanks Wyndham

I hate to tell you this but its one on these two -a new curcuit board  in contoller or new foot pedal pot control.

I always keep a new board in stock myself-the foot contol pots seem to hold up longer these days. I have a spare foot petal so I can test the function by trading them out. This malfuction could be either one of these.

I assume you mean the on off switch? I never had one of those fail.

Let us know the outcome.

I got that-if the pot (that red and blue plastic screw wheel does not adjust it can be a new one or it can also be the circuit board in controller.

As far as the hi/low there is a symbiotic relationship between them so try turning the hi down and then turn the low-They work together sort of speak.Adjust the hi lower then try the low-its counter intuitive.

You may need this switch (potentiometer) or a new circuit board which also controls some speed issues-Now I'm guess inning it s new potentiometer.

PS I have worked on more of these that I want to admit,

The only way I get thru to brent is repeated calls-they have rarely called me. I'm a bulldog who never gives up.Just put them on speed dial. I will also agree with Neil and just buy the pedal guts-heck if its not that I'll take it off your hands as a spare myself.I have a spare motor pedal and control board-in fact its all there as it came off a model b off e-bay.

(not doing business only talking about it)

Finally got through but the tech was not that well versed and said the foot pedal controller board was likely out. I asked for the head tech, Bob, but Bob was out at the dentist.

The controller board doesn't have an obvious burned component on the board but that's all I can tell till I can find out if there is a meter reading I can take on the board to tell if it's bad

Board replacement is $150-175, will find out when I get them the ser #. If the date is the last 4 digits, that will be 12,03 dec of 03

Will learn more this week

Thanks Wyndham

Bob knows his stuff-it sounds like I said the curcuit board or the foot pedal guts

If they tell you how to check the board I would like to know how.

I just did some curcuit board soldering on a battery jumper board.

I sent my old one in a few years ago to Bob-never washed the foot pedal it was a mess. He called and said he loved it was being used so much

When it came back he had replaced the pedal with a new one at no charge. So do not clean it up.
