Chantay
I was just reading about Ravenscag slip over at Plainsmanclays.com. Has anyone used this? I want to try it, but would have to order and have shipped. I would be using it on cone 6 white and red stoneware.
Mark C.
No I have not used that but I do use lots of Plainsman Alberta slip. I seem to go thru at least a bag every 8 months. Mark
Min
I've done a little playing around with it but found the matte recipes cutlery marked and the gloss ones were nothing spectacular. If you are looking for glaze recipes that only use a few ingredients then it might be worth exploring more. The basic 80 ravescrag plus 20 3134 crazed on my low coe clay and to alter it enough to fit negated the benefits of the simple recipes. I can see that it would be an ideal base for school or rec center settings due to the simplicity and minimal materials needed on stonewares fitting glazes in the medium coe expansion range.
