SmartsyArtsy
I want to print a logo and am concerned about getting the best black from the decal. I have seen many results that show as iron color. Is it possible to get a black image?
bny
Print by what method? Laser print is only iron unless using special ceramics color toners. Even iron comes only from certain toners like HP LaserJet 4.
Amy Eberhardt
Chris, you could try this method: http://ceramicartsdaily.org/ceramic-supplies/ceramic-colorants-ceramic-supplies-2/pottery-video-of-the-week-how-to-combine-homemade-customizable-underglaze-transfers-with-paper-stencils-for-a-beautiful-layered-effect/ I just did this last week and it works pretty well. You could print your logo first on standard printer paper and then follow the procedure outlined in the video. The only drawback is that each transfer is a one time thing. If you're wanting to make multiples of your image, you're going to have to slog through it each time. But for other images, it could be a lot of fun. It has certainly opened up whole new vistas for me!
Roberta12
Chris, I know that Paul Chenoweth here on the forum prints decals, but I do believe they are the iron oxide. But check out his posts on the subject. Amy, thanks for that link! I have got to try that!!! Roberta
