Green Pooling Blue And Mother Of Pearl - From Glazemixer Recipes

Argosworks

Recommended Posts

Our studio has been using Glazemixer in the past and it is obvious to us that we cannot get our glaze from Glazemixer any more.  We are now using another vender to mix our dry glazes.

The problem we are having is that we do not have access to some of our favorite glazes - Green Pooling Blue and Mother of Pearl.

Do anyone know how we can get these glazes and if we can get the recipe for them.

Does anyone use the Hobart Cowles Fluid Blue-Green Glaze in the Cone 5-6 Glazes (pg 118)?  If you have used it could you post a photo of it and give the type of clay.  We would like to know the HC B-G is like Green Pooling Blue?

Thanks for any help

So this is a very old thread, but I was vanity Googling around and found it.  Green Pooling Blue and Mother of Pearl were created by me. Both were developed for my tile studio over a long period of testing. I can't tell you how tickled I am to find people who appreciate the work I put into developing them. Glazemixer was a pretty cool service and I'm sad that it's gone.

The original poster is asking for the recipe-Do you want to post it here?

I'm a cone 10 guy so this would be for the midrange folks

Hi Mark. Sorry, I'm not the sole owner of the recipe and I don't have permission to post it. If we had something else like glazemixer I think we could do what we were doing before, just selling it premixed without handing out the formula. I'm just happy to see that someone enjoyed the fruits of our labor :-)

Don't know if the original poster is still checking this thread or not but I think the glaze below may work as a substitute. I would increase the cobalt from 0.5 to up to about 1.25 and go from there with testing.

This is Argosworks who wanted these glazes.  I am still looking for the two glazes.  I talked to Ryan from Glazemixer and asked if he would send a note to the owner of the glazes to contact me so that I could buy the premixed glaze.  Ryan refused to contact the owner of the glaze for me.

Are you the owner of the glaze?  Can I get a small sample of the premixed glaze and I would pay for the sample and shipping.

Sorry it took me forever to see your post & respond. Yes, my partner and I developed the glaze for our tile studio. I'm not actually in the business of mixing & selling glazes. My grammar in my last post wasn't so great. I was trying to say that if there was a new Glazemixer I would be willing to share the glaze through there. My deal with my partner doesn't allow me to share the actual formula freely.

Ryan seems like a good guy. I'm sorry his business didn't work out. I miss Glazemixer!

The glaze from Glazy posted above does look worth trying. I didn't see anything there that looks like the mother of pearl glaze there. Did you see any candidates?

I thought the glazes posted on Glazemixer were posted by users and they included the recipe. They would mix any glaze that was posted in the forums. Maybe i'm wrong. I wish they had just left the forums up so that users like myself could still get the recipes. I bought a glaze from Glazemixer called "wood ash traditional shino" and wish I had the recipe - I just used the last of it!

When I talked to Ryan of Glazemixer and asked about the Green Pooling Blue, he did not want to let me to have the contact.  I understand not wanting to give me the email of the person who owns Green Pooling Blue, so I asked that he would send my email have the owner so I could contact the own.

Could I use another vendor to mix the glaze and I would pay in the same way that Glazemixer took 10% fee for using the glaze recipe?  We have a relationship with a vendor who mixes the glazes for us.  We would not have the recipe, but only the glaze mixer would have the recipe.  I use Green Pooling Blue on top of a white glaze.  The result are beautiful!!!

Thanks for thinking about this.

Dear Argoworks

I think it would be better if you private emailed or directly contacted Tileworks.

This forum is not set up for business transactions

This is just a friendly reminder that this forum is for discussing all things relating to the business of ceramic art. The one thing it is not intended for is the actual conducting of business. For that, we have the very convenient, and more appropriate, classified ad page:

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
