Looking For A Used Kiln

Recommended Posts

Ask your local school district if they have any that they are phasing out of their inventory any time soon. Around here, two of the local school districts have one auctioneer in particular handle all of their obsolete or redundant equipment liquidations. I often see electric kilns go up on the auction block and they almost always go cheap. Once in a great while, even a gas kiln goes up on the block, but they're usually pretty much on their last leg, needing a lot of work to bring them back up to snuff.  Marcia's suggestion of Craig's List or your local supply house might be a good option too. Also, if you have a potter's guild near you, check with them. They occasionally have members that are upgrading or downsizing their studios and may have what you're looking for.
