swan
I am new at firing my own pots. I've only glaze fired a couple of times in my new Skutt kiln. I just glazed some pieces today and I'm hoping to fire tomorrow. I don't know if overnight is long enough for drying though. I left the temperature in the room at 65 degrees F. Will it be safe to fire so soon? Thanks

Benzine
In my classroom, where quick turn around is a must, I'll put wares in the kiln that are freshly glazed, and use the "Fast Glaze" setting. Not a problem yet. Even with a fast heating schedule, the water dries out fast enough, that it doesn't cause problems.
Pugaboo
I too will often load the kiln realize I have enough for a couple more pieces so glaze them and as soon as they are dry enough to handle... Like 5 minutes pop them in the kiln and fire away. I haven't had an issue yet and I use the slow glaze setting in case that helps. Terry
neilestrick
If they're dry enough to handle then they're dry enough to go into the kiln.
