Mark Shapiro was at the last NC Potters conference that I attended(2014). His presence was inspiring during demonstrations and impromptu slide lectures. We all had to go with the flow as the weather had dumped 1/2" of ice knocking out electric all over NC. The first day of demonstrations was put off for discussions and slide demos(generator for one building). Second day did get power back and demos carried on. Mark was a real trooper unfazed by any of it.  I had a chance to sit with him at Dwight Holland's on Saturday night and talk about pots and work ethic and life in general. Really nice down to earth guy. Meeting him like that was very gratifying, and enjoyable.
