Do you think we could start seeing kilns with aerogel insulation in the future?

interesting read! if that picture has anything to do with how good it insulates then maybe. looks cool either way.

Don't think I read it too well. It does say Aerogels are poor radiative insulators because infrared radiation (which transfers heat) passes right through silica aerogel. Maybe a bad idea. I don't really know. Maybe a layer behind some ifb.

I kind of doubt if it would hold up for many heat/cool cycles.

And cost prohibitive.
But I like that your thinking outside of box!!!

I thought the other day ... What about space shuttle tiles.... With the end of that program.......... Shuttle tile .....kiln?

It would be neat to have a see through kiln.
