Sealing Bisque Cone 06 Prior To Cold Glazing

Recommended Posts

I guess this is a 2 part question:

I have pieces done in poured slip and fired 06 and will be doing a variety of cold glazes aka enamels, acrylics, plus using adhesives for small adornments. The pieces are decorative sculptural objects and not functional.

1-In general can one leave unglazed work untreated or should it have a protective coating?

2-If doing anything like I mentioned above is it recommended that one coats or seals a bisque fired piece before hand?

Thanks.
