What To Make?

Recommended Posts

I'm with Marian65.  If I was the OP, I would feel marginalized and sort of put down.  If we are here to help each other, let's do that.

I wonder if the OP even continues to check their thread after it has been hacked by a round of jokes.

But if the OP IS the joker, then it's fair to joke back.  Big difference here, to my way of thinking.

Apologies for side tracking this serious discussion.

hate to put anyone off this forum.

Somedays a little humour in this testing world of ceramics adds a bit of lightness to some folks days.

Will try to keep on track from now on.

Let's keep personalities out of this forum........

If we keep personalities out of this forum, that pretty much kills half the reason I'm here. It wouldn't be much fun to not be able to get to know the people you're talking to and getting advice from.

If that desire is misplaced, then I suppose I'll only return when I have a question. *shrug*

Besides, there is no forum section for inane chitchat. The OP got his question amply answered amidst the horsing around. And he also participated in said tomfoolery.

There are at least two types of people in the world, those that follow the rules to the letter and never deviate from the norm, and those that can get the job done and fool around a bit in the process.  Guess which group I fall into…  To those that find the silliness inane and beneath them, I do not apologize for my outlook on life and I won't let you bully me into changing.  That said, I think shitton is preferable to crapton because it can be employed in two ways.  Shitton as in a LOT, or shitt on as in how one can be made to feel when enough negative people gang up and try to squash a bit of good hearted tomfoolery.  Great word, tomfoolery.  Thanks for that Stell.

On a pottery note, yes the bullets are simple closed forms with holes cut into them.  Some I stamp, some I add handles, and I make a variety of sizes.

Love them! Have to get a user friendly name.

my husband  suggested "flower " if flower bullet was offensive to some.  goodness knows that name wouldn't upset anyone   see what i'm working with here people!  i think i do pretty darned well to just toss around the term shitton now and then  :)

That's probably taken, but it makes me smile.

and i must admit, Flower makes me smile, but you make 'em, you name 'em.

Crapton...........is that   Elic Crapton - well known Engrish guitar player?

Make mugs - who doesn't drink tea or coffee?

Hey,

I'll have you all know that my claim to fame is that I bought Elic Crapton's brother-in-law's Craftman toolbox several years ago. ;>)

I do agree with ajay that you should make cups..... I make alot of 2 lb. cups, make a bulbuous body with a rib on a stick, trim, and put one or two handles on it.

When I get bored I'll push in the leather hard clay eye sockets, then proceed to put eyes on, nose, and mouths....  Some have vampire teeth from white clay.

Most of my face mugs have two handles.

If you decide to make bowls, I make 1 1/2 pound bowls, pull a spout and handle... Its more like a small batter bowl.

I also tell people who I make this stuff for to use it every chance and if you happen to wear it out from use, I'll make another.... my nightmare is to

find out something I made is forgotten on a shelf.  If they use the cup I made for them, they have to think of me everytime they pick it up.

Just have fun, make a list of who needs a cup or bowl and fulfill the list.

Goodluck,

Alabama
