So, how many of you have made a $36M bowl lately. Or, made $36M on a bowl lately? Gonna have to practice roosters, hens and chicks in brush painting class.

I can't call into question the authenticity of the piece and I know that porcelain is appraised differently than swords, this reminds me a lot of the drama that happened on the Nihonto Message boards a while back, with an $80 million tachi.  If you've got the time, it's well worth a read through:  http://www.nihontome...25a541b3560f463

My husband told me yesterday to please stop doing pit firings and please please start doing hens and chicks :D

And, oh no, don't donate it to Ai. He will slap home paint on it..... I'am still angry at him.....

Yeah Evelyne, I understand his message, but I don't see how damaging artifacts, is the best way to get that message across.

In regards to the bowl, definitely not my taste. If I saw it in a garage sale, I'd pass it up...... I'd look at the bottom of course, for the maker's mark, of course.

Benzine: I never understand messages either that include demolishing art. That always leaves me speechless with anger....

Silicosis, a case of lead/cadmium/cobalt poisoning, and a swift kick every now and again to get back to work. :(
