Potter GDY Posted February 3, 2014 Report Share Posted February 3, 2014 My new electric kiln blew a fuse at the end of a firing last week I reckon it was about 50 - 100 degrees short going by the cone 06 which I always put it so I have a kiln full of almost fired pots!When it has been repaired at the beginning of next week I am not sure whether to just run it through another bisc on the same program or reduce the top temperature a bit in case it gets overfired and be less porous. bciskepottery Posted February 3, 2014 Report Share Posted February 3, 2014 Your wares are likely okay; some potters bisque at much lower temperatures (cone 010, 08, etc). They might be a bit more porous than what you are used to working with and may want to absorb more glaze. If you find that is the case, lightly dampen the bisque wares before glazing.
