Rainy and 43F for the high. Went to the store and only had to wear my unlined raincoat and a scarf for decoration, Haflinger wool clogs for the toots and I didn't bother with socks!

I don't miss Chicago weather, not one small bit! My idiot baby brother does the polar bear swim in Lake Michigan. They had to cut a hole in the ice yesterday so they could jump in. red-neck-laughing-smiley-emoticon.gif

I hated having to suit up like an astronaut just to take the garbage out.

We are at about 5F and snowing with a building wind that is supposed to hit gusts of 45, and later snow falling in the 2" per hour range. Temp is supposed to go well below zero F .......... predicted about -15 F by Saturday AM. Have about 6" of light fluff so far... and we are in the 8-14" predicted range.

Wood stove stoked, wood stock laid in. Generator and snow blower sitting ready, and gas cans filled. Grocery shopping this afternoon. Small extra electric heater near the sink feeds/drain line in the studio.

best,

Mild in the UK 8 oC and nothing much below 0 oC so far this year. However, have recently had a series of very fierce storms with gales and high tides causing significant damage and flooding, particular on the coast. More forecast tonight & tomorrow morning in the west & south. In central/eastern England we have been spared the worst of this (so far!).

Below 0 F and the sun hasn't even set.  Supposed to get to -18 F tonight, real temperature.

The beginning of week, we'll see two days in a row with highs below zero, and lows into the 20s and 30s below...... I will not being doing any Raku during this time.....

I met an Australian family on the airport shuttle bus in Colorado a couple of weeks ago. They said it was 38C when they got on the plane in Australia, -15C when they got off in Colorado.

Daughter just landed in Telluride.. same climate adjustment required, poor baby only 4 weeks in the snow. I feel for her!

Here in the NE Georgia Mountains it's SNOWING! Yeah I know you northerners are snow groan but this far south we only get snow once or maybe twice a year if we are lucky. So YAY snow!

Now for the rules it's only allowed to stay for 1 or 2 days at most then it needs to go away and it's not allowed to knock my power out either. Those are the rules and the snow better obey.

Kansas has erratic weather it has been in the teens and twenties for 5 days, tomorrow 50's and then drop back to the teens and more snow by Monday.  You just have to hang on and ride it out and if you make through the spring and still have a house you've made it another year.     Denice
