Model A B C Cxc Brent Wheels

This is not asking which is better or worse its a new wheel to me.

Well I have been looking for some time for another used Brent wheel for a specific application.To add more space to my trimming area. Model A for its small size and footprint and super light weight . its been out of production for many years and was replaced by the i.e. . I have 4 Brents already a B and a few C's and a CXC-for porcelain  work -two throwing 1 trimming and 1 stoneware one in a different area.

On our Craigs list a model A showed up and I bought it tonight after closing down my pottery sales booth. Its cute as a bug and super tiny. I plan on using this just for trimming as the footprint is so small and I can lift it up and clean the trimmings right afterwards as its so light. Its only 1/3 horse but for trimming it perfect. I'll add a photo of this baby of wheels in the next day. Its only 18 inch tall so I will add a small platform to it as Brent booties do not fit this model. It so small it seems like a toy-I feel like its a newborn baby so small and cute-only better as it does not puke.

Odd that you should bring this up-the topic, not the baby puke. I know you have a Brent CXC, as do I. My Brent [CXC], starting making an unsettling whirring noise, like the belt was going to fly off at any second. If you were driving your car and this happened, you would either pull over and stop, or turn the radio on louder.This happened at my peak throwing time for pre-Christmas orders.

Luckily, I had purchased a model Brent B,[used] which I had stored at the lake, in case I wanted to do some throwing there. I had brought it in to the city, which was lucky. I started using it. I found it lighter, more responsive, able to stop quicker which is good for decorating for me.

I had used the CXC for 35 years plus without a problem. I will still repair it and have two wheels. I don't know which one I prefer.

I also have a model A. I have had it for almost 40 yrs and through I have other wheels this one is still running very well. I also use it for trimming only but the longevity of it is why I buy Brent wheels.

Well I have been restoring the egde of this wheel with waterproof sealant before turning it into a trim only wheel

I put a soda can in photo for scale -this thing is TINY.

TRJ maybe  one of your  pulleys slipped out of postition-or a bearing is toast on head shaft?

I have replaced all of these before.

That sound is not the control box or pedal-could also be your motor bearings but thats really rare-how about looking at one of your motor brushes to see if they have life left in them at this can tear up your commentator and ruin it.
