eoteceramics
hi, I'm messing around with some porcelain and want to make some translucent tea light holders, How thin should I roll the clay? I'd say I have it about cereal packet thinness but will that be thin enough to allow the light shine through the embossed pattern😠help welcome, thanks , Julia
neilestrick
I would go with 1/16 inch for starters if you're planning on stamping or embossing it. That's the thickness I use for stamped sprigs. You can get thin metal rod at the hardware store to use as thickness strips if you're rolling by hand. Make sure you're using a good grolleg porcelain. Marcia Selsor
you could add some paper pulp if you have some scraps to soak down. you could go very thin and strong.
