From ancient times to the present, diverse cultures have made tiles to clad, cover, decorate, illustrate, and inform. This three day, intensive, hands-on workshop focuses on relief tile but also provides instruction on making field tile, and trim. Activities Includes design, relief modeling/carving, mold making, pressing, as well as drying, firing and glazing issues. Participants will make a relief tile and mold. Stephenson is a professional tile maker, sculptor, and popular instructor. She brings expertise and a sense of history and exploration to her workshops. Basic materials and tools are provided.
