A use a mold release from Laguna clay co-I can go check out the name-Its purelube-I buy the gallon size. Green soap from a drug store works just as well. I know folks lacquer them as well to seal then soap them Sealing them first works the best then use the release agent or soap just before pouring in the plaster. I have used plain old dish detergent as a mold release, but then it was a one time deal. If I were doing it on a regular basis, I would probably use a commercial product.
