Hi Emily- I realize this message is old, so you may have already found him: Richard at Freeform is very familiar with the old ci wheels. He knew the guys that started the company in El Cajon and still uses one of their old wheels today- the good ones.

Hi Mark- Yes, it's our only clay supply place in San Diego. Here's the link:

www.freeformclay.com

Richard has owned it for years and I know he knew the Ci people pretty well back in the day (El Cajon is only a few miles from here). I'm going to take the picture in later this week, to see if he has any ideas. The thing is, because the wheel sits so close to the edge of the table, I'll need to find something that will be stable there as well, I think? Will probably end up having my husband build something- he's an architect after all, so you'd think he'd be able to whip something up!?!? Hope he doesn't see this... I think my custom orders are starting to annoy him 😁

This wheel is made to sit at-at the corner with legs on both sides. Its a strange set up at best.

Ah, hah! That's interesting. It's a pretty solidly built wheel... and I know what you mean about the newer ones. I just started this journey last summer and the first wheel I brought home was a used clay boss which caused a few emotional breakdowns. Shudder... a very traumatic time. Although, on the positive side, learning (or more accurately, fighting) on that sub-par wheel makes me feel like I almost know what I'm doing on my Brent wheels... and the little Ci wheel I just brought home is about a hundred times better than that horrific beast that reduced this grown woman to years.

Thanks for all your input, Mark! If you find any other info on it, I'd be happy to hear it.

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to ceramics, new to forums/this forum... etc.. so thank you for having me! :)

I recently bought a Creative Industries MP from craigslist wheel which, when I tried it out before I bought it worked great, and a few hours after use it started making this loud clicking sound when in use. Still works great... but is so loud! I also bought an artista table top wheel that ended up doing the same thing after about an hour of use... I sent the table top wheel back and they agreed it was defective, but any ideas? Could I just get any mechanic to look at the motor? Wouldn't mind the manual too! Thank you all so much! :)

This is for Kilndoc,

I have a CI HP.  It will only run at full speed.  I was unable to control speed with the pedal.  I tested the pot in the pedal and found it bad.  I replaced the motor bearings as they were noisy I Just replaced the pot in the foot pedal and still am not getting speed control.   Wondering if there is a problem with the board,  who made the board or who might have a schematic for the control board or can do board repair on this board.  Would you be able to point me somewhere?

It appears the doc hasn't been here since Feb. Replaced the pot with what value, are you sure you got the right one? CI only lists one pot (5K) and that only works on the late model Bosses. I'm unfamiliar with the HPs but I know the early CB's used a 1 meg pot.

Either I'm getting better looking with age....or my vision is getting worse...
