Crazing Test for Dark Glazes

Does anyone have a method to check for crazing with dark glazes? My normal method for craze testing is to heat a glazed test pot in the oven @ 325 for 30 minutes then plunge the pot into room temp water, then repeat procedure twice, each time increasing the oven temp by 5 degrees. Then I rub sumi ink onto the pot, leave it sit for a few minutes, rinse and check for crazing. Works for clear, whites and most glazes but obviously not for black or very dark brown etc. I tried floating a solution of isopropanol and nepsy on a flat test piece, logic being the alcohol would evaporate leaving the nepsy in the crazing if there was any. Results were messy and not that conclusive. Any suggestions?
