Is there a way to bookmark a post?

Recommended Posts

Is there some way to bookmark posts or create a file of posts here on Ceramic Arts Daily's forum? And a similar question -- I've posted a good bit on Trip Advisor in preparation for a ridiculously over-planned trip to Ireland, and on that site I can click on my user name and see all my posts listed chronologically. That would be really useful here, since the advice I've received on C.A.D. is priceless, but my memory is a sieve. Is there anything like that here on C.A.D.? (Glad we now know how to force those recalcitrant little emoticons to do our bidding - just click and drag!)

In your user profile there is a tab for recent posts and a "Find Posts" option. The latter lists all your posts in chronological order, recent to beginning.

To bookmark, make a file in your Favorites for CAD, then click the Add to Favorites button. Just tried it and it worked. You could add subfolders, as needed, too.

Oooo! Lucky you!!! I went to Ireland back in '03 with a total itinerary and list of things I wanted to see and do. I got to about 1/3 of the stuff on my list because there was an insane amount of stuff I saw "on the way" to wherever that was awesome and not In The Book. My unsolicited advice is to pick one thing per day that you don't want to miss and just enjoy the rest of the scenery along the way. Many of my favorite memories are of the things we just found by chance!! Of the planned ones, the Cliffs of Mohr and Clonmacnois are two iconic Irish locales I highly recommend. smile.gif

Thanks, bciskepottery. Duh, it's kinda obvious when someone else figures it out for me! And Nancy, it sounds like you love Ireland as much as I do. I've been twice over the past 20 years, and I agree that the best memories are from the MANY serendipitous finds. My husband and I are in full agreement about where we'd live if we won the lottery : I'm headed for the rainy west coast of Ireland....and he's off to parched Taos, NM. Yep, as usual -- we're in total agreement!

So how do you get the emoticons to work?

I can't remember who figured it out on another post (someone who is lots smarter than moi), but the emoticons work if you click and drag them. Otherwise, as you've apparently figured out for yourself, not so much.

Sorry to sound completely ignorant, but I've been wondering the same thing. So now that you've answered, can you please explain where I find the place to make a file of my favorites for CAD- I don't see it anywhere (then again I don't really know where to look)

It is in your browser, not the forum itself. Look in the top row or two of your browser

It is hard to believe that someone as computer illiterate as I can even find this forum, but I am still clueless. I think my browser is google chrome, but where does it have rows to look in? I suppose I can look on internet explorer or firefox if necessary.

Look on the far upper right hand side of the Google Chrome; there is an icon that looks like three bars on top of each other. Click on that bar and you should get a menu that includes a selection for bookmarks.

Thanks for the computer lesson. Never expected to learn more about using my puter from CAD. This is the frosting on the cake of all that I'm learning about ceramics!
