Marcia Selsor
You should bisque at ^06 or 05 for glazing at ^6. If you bisque at ^6 your clay would be vitrified(non-porrous) and would not accept (absorb) your glaze. Marcia

Mark C.
Heat the pieces so they are warm and try to glaze them-They will not suck up much glaze so this will take a few tries-let them dry and glaze them again it may take 2 to 3 tries to get them to have enough glaze-next time bisque fire to cone 06 or cone 05 as noted above. You may be better off starting over with new work as this getting glaze to stick to them will be very hard now. Mark
Marcia Selsor
Sorry I didn't read this sooner and sorry you bisqued so high. Mark gives you good advice on how to get the glaze to stick. You are not the first one to do this. Just try to get a good coat of glaze of the surface. Good luck. Let us know how it all turns out. bciskepottery
For the future, you may want to find a Cone 6 clay body if you are firing at Cone 6 and making functional ware. The Cone 9 clay body will not vitrify at Cone 6 . . . which could lead to problems with respect to glaze fit, leakage/absorbency, etc.
Avaviel
For re-glazing I'll heat up the piece to around 300ish, and then 'boil on the glaze', but as my professor says. This would apply to this as well, but be sure to use tongs! I've successfully rescued pots before re-glazing, and and I'm sure that it would help with this. You may be able to go with a lower temp, you could set your kiln to reach 300 degrees, and and test how well the glaze adheres at the milestone numbers, like 100 150 and so on. Good luck! OffCenter
If you're only firing a cone 9 clay to cone 6 your bowls will probably leak regardless of the glaze. It may leak too slowly to make much of a difference with soup bowls, but it is definitely poor craftsmanship to underfire your pots. Jim
