Nicely stacked! How long is your shift? I help fire Roger Jamison's anagama in Juliette, Georgia and usually take 3 six-hour shifts with another person. If this video still works it condenses a 6-day firing and unloading down to a few minutes: http://www.rogerjami...ndex.php/video/ The camera angle makes the kiln look shorter and fatter than it is. The unloading through the side door shows the size better.

it is about a 2.5 hour drive for me, well worth it

claystudio of missoula is a great place, spent the evening before the loading there, glazing my stuff and hanging out, very good atmostphere, and the residents are doing some high quality work, especially perry

it is SO difficult to be up here while the fire is going, i want to be in front of that firebox chucking wood, right NOW, lol...c'mon friday!

haha, YES, Fyaaah!

that was the very last stoke, when we filled all the sidestokes, then chucked (gently) about 50 logs int the front firebox, then shut the flue...crazy reduction for a bit (and the flames coming out all over. then re-opened, re-closed flue...crazy-fun time

"perry's foam trucker hat and moccassins may not meet the highest safety standards"

Really? That's somewhat of a concern, as my safety equipment is made from an old pair of moccasins lined with the foam from a trucker hat........ I may have to upgrade to using an old pair of Crocs lined with bits of a Snuggie.
