kiln bottom

Recommended Posts

I just bought a kiln on craigs list. It has something melted on the bottom, it looks like a seriously over fired piece. Porcelain maybe?? It is covering half the bottom. What to do? Any suggestions? I got it for 75 bucks so if I need to buy a new bottom that would work money wise.

Thanks,

Andrea

Clean the crude off by chipping or grinding then Flip your floor over and put the bad side down rebuild kiln on to new bottom side. This will give you a new life on the floor-when you melt the next stuff then get a new floor-until then happy firing.
