sine
hi I am wondering about using vermiculite( an insulation material )as a 'resist' in a saggar firing, to prevent the fumes reaching certain parts of my pot. Got some vermiculite- largish flakes. Does it have to be much finer to give a better overall protection from the fumes? Does it have to be packed down and pressed? Can it be reused ? Would love to hear of anyones experience of using it- Also of any other methods of a reliable resist- I am firing to roughly 900' c ( 1652' F) so most conventional resists will be burned away. Thanks a lot Sin é
