Rakuken
Has anyone done a straight maple wood firing? I'm looking into doing a firing with solely maple wood. Go for it! Let us know how it turns out. I use Kingsford Briquets ash straight from my grill, sifted thru 60 mesh. Firing to cone 10 Although Kingsford Briquets does have additives including limestone which might help the fluxing. Aloha, Ken
neilestrick
You can use any wood you want. Each type will give you different amounts of heat, and each will have a different mineral composition that will produce a different look to your pots. And your maple wood will be different than my maple wood. So go for it. It should burn great! We used to burn everything in grad school- pine, spruce, oak, cherry, apple, willow, cottonwood, ash, 2x4's, etc....
