Ginny C
I'm a "senior" who fell in love with throwing pots about 3 years ago. I now have a studio in the cellar of my 160 year-old house (with a big old sink with hot & cold water) and a kiln in the garage, and I'm down there almost every day making functional pieces to give away. I have a chance to visit North Carolina in May...(one friend in the eastern part and two others near Raleigh). I'd like to visit lots of pottery studios and maybe attend a workshop, but I can't find much about this by googling! Can someone tell me where to find out the possibilities? If the photo gets attached, here are my latest good pieces ready for bisquing!

In the area of Jugtown, north Souhern Pines, southwest of Raleigh, just an hour, you will find all the pottery you can possibly imagine. This is an area full of pottery history with well over 100 "potteries located there. I am not saying they are all worth the visit, but you can surely find enough to occupy your time. There is even a N.C. Pottery Center there at Seagrove. Check it out.
flowerdry
Hi Ginny. The John C. Campbell Folk School in SW NC has weekend and weeklong pottery classes. You can google it. I have signed up for a week long class with Nan Rothwell and am excited like a little kid going to summer camp!

MadMudder
There is also the Cedar Creek Gallery just a little north of Durham on I-85. They have lots of artists working on site and it is just a very kewl place to visit. I would love to be able to work in a place like this. http://www.cedarcreekgallery.com/ Beth
