glazenerd
I recently received 200 lbs of ferro frit 3110, month back or so. After 20+ attempts! still no crystals. Even the old tried and true recipes produced nothing, not even nucleation sites. I have also noticed it wants to crawl-odd. Crystalline glaze can do very strange things, but crawl or non- nucleation is not among them. Not to mention all four bags were like bags of boulders- rock hard. Anyone else having issues, noticed changes, etc? Nerd
Babs
is this your only variant? I guess you've read the bag labels, just asking? ring supplier, may save lots of time
neilestrick
Double check the labels. They are just printed on the bottoms of the bags and they can be hard to read/decipher. Maybe your supplier grabbed the wrong ones?
Dick White
Are you sure it is 3110, as others have said? If you got it from a crystallier, could it be Fusion 644, which despite its other benefits, has the sad behavior of solidifying in the bag. (I break chunks out with a hammer and chisel, and then grind it in a coffee mill before I can use it.)
glazenerd
Dick: i have ten pounds of chunky monkey FF 644 out there. the bags are plainly marked Ferro Frit, but I threw them off the truck without checking ID stamp. Guess I will be looking in the AM. TY all.
neilestrick
Ferro does a crappy job of labeling them.
glazenerd
All four bags are stamped 3110, however one of the four has a different lot #. Fired it last night, will know shortly. Guess it's time to call supplier or ferro directly.
glazenerd
Okay, this bag worked, so the other three bags go back.
