LeeU
Here is the thing: I have 4.4 cubic feet of kiln to fill (L&L 23 easy fire). I must bisque only 3-4 small pieces of raku clay for a simple demo, bisque 1/2 shelf of cone 10 clay for an anagama wood fire, fire 1/2 shelf of unglazed 05 clay, either as bisque or as “done”, and fire 1/2 shelf of unglazed green ^6. The latter is being used primarily as filler because I will not have anywhere near enough pieces to fill the kiln even once--the total is only about half a kiln load. I will use shelf supports and firebrick for the rest of the filler. My question is this: is there a low fire cone number to which I could fire ALL of these in one shot for the purpose of bisquing them sufficiently for their later fires? neilestrick
You should be fine firing everything to cone 04.
Marcia Selsor
I agree 04 or 05 should do fine. Marcia
LeeU
You guys made my day--thank you. I am still making pieces, so assuming they dry well before the firing deadline I should have a full kiln load after all, being able to fire the batch as a mix. What a relief!
