Pugaboo
In starting my glaze research and continuing my glaze education I came across PV: Plastic Vitrox. 2 of the glazes at the art center are called PV Blue and PV Green, I am assuming they are made using Plastic Vitrox. Everything I have read on it though seems to suggest it is used in clay bodies not glazes so am I researching the wrong thing for PV glazes? All you wonderful glaze nerds out there can you give a girl a little education in this? Also, is it something I should be stocking in my glaze mixing pantry? Thanks so much! Magnolia Mud Research
We use PV "clay" as a glaze ingredient for several mid-fire range glazes. It brings stuff along that is needed but not available with kaolin or ball clay . Check the materials data on Laguna Clay website for oxides in PV Clay. glazenerd
Not something that needs to be stocked for glazes. Lt pointed out the mad sheet: when you read the composition, you will see all the familiar glaze ingredients you use now. Can it be used: yes. Does it needs to be used: no. In reading one of your other recent posts: simplify indeed.
