helpingmymom
Hello Forum, I have trying to get more involved with my mothers hobby of ceramics. I have been painting and firing, and now I would like for us to be able to make our own mold. We have several factory made molds, but would like to be able to make a mold of things around the house. Is there a book on the market or can anyone give me the steps for making a mold. Thank you so much
bciskepottery
Look in the bookstore on the Ceramic Arts Daily tab and you will find books and videos on mold making. http://ceramicartsdaily.org/bookstore/
klen11
You can use some rubber to create the original or "master" of the mold and then use plaster to create the outer areas of the mold. There is a technique to all of this and I am sure you can probably see it in the book that is stated above. I also saw an episode of "How It's Made" that really lays it all out so maybe you could Google that!
